An internal explosion occurred at one of the factories in Qatar's Ras Laffan Industrial Area following a technical malfunction during operations, authorities said.
The Ministry of Interior said Civil Defence teams were immediately deployed to the site and began managing the situation while implementing necessary safety procedures.

In an updated statement, the ministry confirmed that the incident resulted in a number of injuries. However, officials said no gas or hazardous material leaks were detected that could pose a danger to public safety.
The competent authorities continue to deal with the incident and monitor the situation, the ministry added.
