Muscat: A university assistant professor has been found dead at his residence on the university campus in Oman.
Hesham Abdul Khader, 57, an Indian national who worked as an associate professor in the chemistry department of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Muscat, was found Friday.
“His body was found in his room. We came to know about the tragedy late Friday night around 10.30pm. He was staying alone,” local media quoted a person close to the professor as saying Saturday.
The professor went for an evening stroll Friday before his death, a witness said.
“He had a history of heart ailments,” a friend of the professor said.
Professor Abdul Khader was married and his wife has arrived from Kerala, India, after being informed of his death, police said.
Abdul Khader graduated in science from the University of Kerala.
