Two Iranians arrested in Omani territorial waters

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) coast guards have caught an Iranian boat in the Omani territorial waters and arrested two Iranian nationals on the charges of smuggling, according to a press release here today.

The coast guards chased the Iranian boat near Khabourah and caught up with it close to the beach. Both the suspected Iranian intruders have been handed over to Suwaiq Police Station. The boat has been confiscated.

The police have urged citizens, especially those living along the coast, to report any suspicious activities or intruders trying to sneak in. "These intruders commit various crimes once they get inside the country," a police spokesperson said.
