Oman's Foreign Ministry issues travel warning to Bangkok amid threats of more flooding

Muscat: Oman's Foreign Ministry has called on citizens not to travel to Thailand at present in view of the adverse climatic conditions prevailing there, especially in the capital Bangkok.

The ministry, in statement issued on Thursday, said the floods in Thailand have been disrupting work and transport. It said flooding may worsen and that could pose a threat to citizens now there.

The statement asked all citizens in Thailand to exercise caution and return home as soon as possible. Citizens may contact Oman's embassy in Bangkok for co-ordination on telephone numbers 006626399380; 0066263993 81; 006626399381 or 0066843444132.

The ministry also urged relatives of citizens now in Thailand to contact the ministry to help bring them back by calling on telephone numbers in Muscat: 24634395, 24634396 or 24634799.
