Dubai: Unstable weather conditions are expected to continue across Kuwait until Saturday evening, bringing strong winds, low visibility and hazardous sea conditions, the Meteorology Department has warned.

Dharar Al Ali, acting Director of the Meteorology Department, confirmed that horizontal visibility began to deteriorate in western parts of the country late Monday due to active north-westerly winds sweeping across the region.

Wind speeds are forecast to exceed 60 kilometres per hour, with visibility potentially dropping to less than 1,000 metres, particularly in open and exposed areas.

“These conditions are expected to persist intermittently over the coming days, affecting most regions,” Al Ali said. He added that wave heights are likely to exceed seven feet, making sea conditions especially dangerous for maritime activity.

Motorists have been advised to exercise extreme caution, particularly on highways where visibility may be severely limited.

Beachgoers and seafarers are strongly urged to avoid coastal areas and refrain from heading out to sea due to the high wave risk.

The Meteorology Department continues to monitor the evolving situation and has encouraged citizens and residents to follow the latest forecasts and warnings via its official website, mobile app, and social media channels.
