Emir returns to Kuwait after private Europe visit

Kuwait City: The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah, returned to Kuwait on Tuesday evening after a private visit to Europe, Kuwait’s state media KUNA reported.

The 83-year-old Emir travelled to Europe on March 14 after a successful medical check up in the United States. Sheikh Nawaf travelled to New York on March 4 to conduct a regular medical check up as it is typical that the Emir travels to the US for medical visits.

This is the first medical trip for the newly appointed Emir since he assumed power back in September, after the passing of the former Emir and his half-brother, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah.
