Body found in car, manhunt launched for driver

Manama: Kuwaiti police have launched a manhunt for the driver of a car found with the body of an Indonesian woman inside.

According to local news site Al Aan, a police patrol had suspicions about a driver as he was filling up at a fuel station.

However, when the police asked him for his identification papers, he sped away, prompting a car chase. Upon entering a neighbourhood, he dumped the vehicle and fled on foot, Al Aan reported on Wednesday.

When the police inspected the vehicle, they found the body of a young woman. Security sources say the body is of a 30-year-old Indonesian missing since 2007.

The vehicle had been reportedly missing since Sunday.
