Kuwait: The Kuwaiti ministry of health will provide 4,000 thermal scanners for schools, reported the local online news provider Awan.

The ministry's move is a step to control the spread of swine flu in schools by identifying and isolating students showing any sign of the virus.

The health authorities have also asked the ministry of education to run a health check on all students who are returning to school to ensure that none have acquired the virus.

Sunday, September 6, is the first day of the academic year and about 50,000 teachers and administrators are resuming work. A final date for students' rejoining date is yet to be finalised.
