Dubai: Bahraini Police have arrested a man and a woman for offering medical services without a licence, local media reported.

The Director-General of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Evidence (CID) said the CID police, in cooperation with the Health Regulatory Authority, caught the suspects - a 43-year-old man and 34-year-old woman. Their names and nationalities were not revealed.

The Police acted on a tip-off and launched an immediate investigation accordingly. Investigators also seized medical equipment found in their possession.

It is not the first time that some people have been caught offering health services without a licence in Bahrain. Earlier in 2019, a Bahraini man and two Thai women were arrested for posing as doctors and running an illegal clinic carrying out plastic surgery operations.

The unlicensed clinic came to the attention of authorities when a Bahraini woman paid 1,200 Bahraini dinars ($3,191) for a buttock enhancement surgery and was not happy with the results.
