Bahrain reports 705 new COVID-19 cases

Three more deaths take coronavirus fatalities to 219 in country

Dubai: Bahrain has reported another 705 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 63,189, according to the Kingdom’s Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, 643 people recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries to 56,087. Three more fatalities were also reported raising the death toll to 219.

Of today’s 705 new cases, 119 were expatriate workers, 576 contacts of local cases and ten travel-related.

The ministry added that of the 6,885 active cases, 159 were receiving treatment and 40 in critical condition.

The latest cases were detected after the ministry conducted additional 12,796 COVID-19 tests, which takes the overall tests done so far to 1,301,170.
