Cairo: Bahraini police had arrested two Asian men suspected of stealing iron rods and selling them as scraps, Al Bilad newspaper reported.

Both suspects, aged 36 and 37, were seen in an online video clip stealing the items outside a house in the area of Damstan, the police chief in the Northern Governorate said.

"Search and investigation operations conducted by the local police led to identifying them. They were arrested after they had sold the stolen items to an iron scrap store," he added.

The case has been referred to public prosecution, according to the official.
