London: The Conservatives piled pressure on Government MPs to come clean about their own repayments following the audit of claims by Sir Thomas Legg.

Members of Cameron's top team are repaying an additional £24,782 (Dh146,923) after final demand letters from Sir Thomas, the Tories disclosed. It takes the total repayments by Conservative MPs to more than £300,000.

Cameron said his party was "taking a lead" on expenses.

The biggest bill revealed on Friday went to Tory defence spokesman Liam Fox, who is returning nearly £8,000.

The figure, claimed to pay mortgage interest, maintenance and council tax for Fox's second home, takes the total he has now paid back to more than £12,000.
