Rebels appeal for help to end Philippine conflict
Manila: Philippine rebel group Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has appealed to the international community to bring back peace talks, according to a report on Friday.
Escalating violence in southern Philippines has killed more than 120,000 people.
"We are calling upon the international community to intercede," Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, MILF chairman, told Al Jazeera television.
"We still believe that the best situation is going back to the peace process," he said.
Last month, three MILF leaders went on a rampage after the Supreme Court stopped a deal on expanding an autonomous Muslim region, forcing the government to end talks with rebels.
