Manila mulls lifting temporary deferment on sending workers to South Korea
Manila: The Philippine government is considering lifting a temporary restriction on sending Filipino workers to South Korea as tensions in the North Asian peninsula show signs of easing.
Edwin Lacierda, spokesman of President Benigno Aquino, said they expect special envoy Roy Cimatu to recommend the lifting of the restriction once he makes an assessment on the security situation in South Korea.
Cimatu was sent to South Korea to oversee contingency preparations.
