Philippine town mayor shot dead

Manila: An unidentified gunman has shot dead Pangasinan town mayor Arthur Cabantac, police said on Sunday.

Cabantac died on the way to the hospital after the attack late on Saturday. He suffered four gunshot wounds.

Police said the gunman shot Cabantac through an open window in the house of his neighbour.

Police are investigating the incident.
