Ex-senator Honasan is in 'gilded cage'

Manila: The lawyer of detained former senator Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan has likened the ex-lawmaker's detention cell at Santa Rosa to a "gilded cage" where the detainee free to enjoy creature comforts but under tight guard.

"Fort Santo Domingo is a lot better in terms of physical comfort. But ... he can't talk to anybody," Gutierrez told the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
