Peshawar: Police say two people are dead after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives outside a press club in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar.
Police official Shafi Ullah says the dead from Tuesday's bombing included a policeman and another person who was at the press club's gate when the explosion occurred. Four other people were injured.
Peshawar has been a frequent target for bomb blasts in Pakistan over the past few months.
The attacks have been part of a surge in violence in the country attributed to militants retaliating for the army's offensive against the Taliban in the South Waziristan tribal region.
The Peshawar Press Club is a well-known landmark in the city and many journalists congregate there.
