Peshawar: Two people were killed in a grenade and gun attack on trucks transporting supplies to Western forces in Afghanistan near Peshawar, Pakistan, officials said on Monday.

Gunmen fired rocket-propelled grenades at the trucks parked on the outskirts of Peshawar, setting them on fire, police said.

"When the fire was raging, the attackers started firing and two drivers were killed," Mohammad Haroon, an official of Al-Faisal Cargo, a private company involved in trucking supplies to Afghanistan, said.

The Khyber Pass, a vital supply link for Western forces in landlocked Afghanistan, has been a frequent target for militants.
