North, South Korea trade insults

Seoul: The verbal sparring between North and South Korea has continued after the North threatened to turn the South to “ashes'' as tensions continue to rise on the Korean peninsula.

The comments were a response to remarks by South Korea's top military officer that Seoul could target suspected North Korean nuclear sites if there were signs of a pending atomic attack.

Meanwhile, the North continued its rhetorical attacks by warning Thursday that policies of President Lee Myung-bak may cause a ''nuclear disaster'' on the Korean peninsula in comments carried by the North's Korean Central News Agency.
