Kathmandu: Two dozen Nepali soldiers and armed police have been deployed to control Tibetan protesters at Mount Everest ahead of the Olympic torch run at the peak next month, an official said on Sunday.
The official date for the torch run to the mount has not be released, but is expected to be between May 1 and 10.
To ensure a smooth run, Nepal has also restricted climbers to Mount Everest from going above camp two during the period.
Troops have been ordered to use force if necessary.
