Woman murdered, dumped in Kolkata bylane

Kolkata: A woman in her late forties was found brutally murdered with her throat slit and her body dumped in a Kolkata bylane early on Sunday, police said.

The body was identified as that of 47-year-old Sampa Chakraborty's. It was wrapped in a cloth and left in Basudavpur Road, an officer said.

According to neighbours, there was a quarrel in the family late on Saturday. The police are yet to trace any of Chakraborty's family members.

Her husband, Bhupal Chakroborty, is said to be employed as a private security guard, a police official said. Informed sources said Chakraborty's daughter and son-in-law were seen near the flat early on Sunday.
