Hyderabad More than fifty days after it happened, the death of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in a helicopter crash has now become a subject of a raging controversy with a group loyal to YSR's son Jaganmohan Reddy raising fears that the crash was result of a conspiracy.

The issue has come into sharp focus with Jagan's own Telugu daily newspaper Saakshi and the Television channel with the same name carrying stories raising questions about what lies behind the tragedy.

Speaking at Meet the Press programme of Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister K. Rosaiah said that his initial information was that it was purely an accident. "But now there is talk of a conspiracy behind it. If there is a conspiracy it needs to be uncovered."

On the other hand political detractors of Jagan have posed a counter question asking why YSR loyalists Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and the Public Security Affairs committee chairman K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao did not resign accepting the moral responsibility for the failure in protecting the Chief Minister.

When asked about the conspiracy theory, the Rosiah pointed out that two types of inquiry were on and the reports were awaited.
