Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee was seriously mounting pressure on the party high command to take action against the party's defiant member of Lok Sabha Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
This, after his television channel Sakshi repeatedly telecast a controversial programme depicting the Congress party Sonia Gandhi in a poor light. Amid the unfolding political drama, which has left the Kadapa MP completely isolated in the party, the Chief Minister K. Rosaiah was leaving for New Delhi tomorrow to discuss the situation with the party's central leadership.
Rosaiah's scheduled programmes in the state were cancelled in view of his sudden plans to leave for Delhi. There were speculations that the Chief Minister was summoned to Delhi in view of the new developments but Rosaiah said it was a scheduled visit.
The hour long current affairs programme in which Sonia Gandhi's leadership was criticised as a failure and she was held responsible for the weakening of the party, has evoked strong condemnation from the Chief Minister Rosaiah, state Congress chief D. Srinivas and several other party leaders.
