Kabul: Afghanistan has opposed US use of its territory for the launch of a possible attack against neighbouring Iran on Monday.
In the event of an attack, Iran has threatened to target Israel and US interests in the region.
"We are attentive to the dangers," Afghan President Hamid Karzai told Radio Liberty when asked about the possible repercussions of a conflict between Iran and the United States.
"Afghanistan refuses to be a battleground, and does not want its soil to be used against any country", Karzai added.
Karzai has tried to facilitate talks between Tehran and Washington, while foreign troops have ignored repeated calls to organise operations with the Afghan forces.
