Passengers on board a Delta Air Lines flight were forced to evacuate after an engine caught fire while the aircraft was still on the tarmac at Orlando International Airport in Florida, BBC News reported.
Dramatic footage shared on social media shows smoke and flames billowing from the right engine of the plane, as passengers exited using inflatable emergency slides.
The incident involved Delta flight 1213, which was scheduled to depart from Orlando—home to Disney World—en route to Atlanta. According to BBC, there were no reports of injuries.
In a statement on social media, Orlando International Airport confirmed: “Passengers were evacuated. Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting team promptly responded.”
Reuters reported that the Airbus A330 was carrying nearly 300 passengers. Additional video from the airport terminal shows passengers gathered on the tarmac while emergency vehicles surround the aircraft.
