Dubai: The UAE is currently in the grip of extreme summer heat, with the mercury soaring well above 50°C across the country. Today's highest temperature was recorded in Um Azimul, Al Ain, at a blistering 50.6°C. While evening will offer a slight reprieve, the high temperatures will continue through the weekend.

Tonight's weather

Dubai is currently experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures consistently hovering around 40°C, according to AccuWeather. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 37°C in Dubai. Light to moderate winds from the Northwest to Southeast will be blowing at 10-25 km/hr, occasionally reaching up to 40 km/hr. Humidity will be high in some coastal and internal western areas overnight and into Sunday morning, with a chance of fog or mist.

The weekend outlook (August 2-3)

Saturday is forecast to be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of some convective clouds forming in the eastern and southern regions, potentially bringing some rainfall. Winds will be light to moderate, freshening at times, and causing blowing dust. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.

On Sunday, expect fair to partly cloudy skies with a continued probability of convective cloud formation and rain in the East and South during the afternoon. Conditions will be humid at night and Monday morning over some western areas, with a chance of fog or mist. Light to moderate winds will continue to cause blowing dust at times. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
