Abu Dhabi: The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), under the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has opened two new rest stops dedicated to delivery bike riders in Rabdan and Shakhbout City.

Launched in collaboration with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, the initiative is part of the “Summer Without Accidents” campaign, which aims to improve working conditions and promote road safety for delivery riders across Abu Dhabi.

The new rest areas are solar-powered and built to eco-friendly standards, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s broader commitment to sustainable development. They are designed to enhance traffic safety by providing riders with a safe and comfortable environment during their shifts.

Each rest stop features shaded, air-conditioned seating, cold drinking water, and charging stations for electronic devices.

The Integrated Transport Centre said the initiative underscores its ongoing efforts to support delivery riders and promote safer roads. Comfortable, well-equipped facilities not only improve rider wellbeing but also encourage compliance with traffic rules and reduce fatigue-related risks.
