France’s move boosts global push for two-state solution, lasting peace: Sheikh Abdullah
Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of France’s intention to recognise the State of Palestine.
Sheikh Abdullah said the move strengthens international efforts to revive the two-state solution and secure a just and lasting peace in the region.
Calling it a “significant decision at a critical moment,” Sheikh Abdullah said it underscores the international community’s responsibility to advance the political process and resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
He added that meaningful progress towards peace would enhance regional security and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people — including the creation of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, in line with UN resolutions and international law.
Reaffirming the UAE’s unwavering support for the aspirations of the Palestinian people, Sheikh Abdullah said the UAE remains committed to working with international and regional partners to achieve a fair and sustainable resolution — one that paves the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
