Dubai: After two scorching days, when the mercury topped 50°C, temperatures in the UAE will likely dip on Monday and taper through the rest of the week, bringing relief to residents.

Monday’s weather is expected to be fair, although it will be partly cloudy sometimes. According to the National Centre of Meteorology, temperatures are expected to fall, especially in coastal areas.

The highest temperature recorded on Sunday was 49.8°C in Mezaira, Al Dhafra, and the lowest temperature of 22.5°C was also in Al Dhafra region in Barakah 2.

Much of the drop in Monday’s temperature will be due to the light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds during the daytime, but it’s likely to kick up some dust.

Temperatures in Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah, will decrease to 25°C, while in Abu Dhabi areas, temperatures will likely record a high of 48°C.
