Thick fog poses a danger to drivers across the UAE

Al Ain UAE residents have again woke up to clouds of thick fog again Thursday morning, and face another day of traffic nightmare on roads in different parts of the country.
 
Motorists in Dubai, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Liwa, Suwaihan, Al Wathba and other areas reported poor visibility and traffic crawling to a standstill on streets.

Similar conditions were reported from Dubai Outer Bypass Road, Shaikh Zayed Road, Emirates Road, and Al Khail area in Duabi.
 
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) and police have warned motorists to drive carefully in the areas affected by fog to avoid accidents.

The centre reported almost zero visibility in some area this morning. It was just 50m in Al Dafra, 100m in Jebel Ali, 150m in Abu Dhabi, 200m in Ras Al Khaimah, and 500m in Liwa.
 
Forecasters said fog developed before daybreak Thursday morning and slowly lifted into a deck of low clouds. The conditions improved as the morning continued.

The weather would be relatively hot in the internal areas during daytime, with mercury shooting up to 38 to 40 degrees Celsius.

The conditions would be sunny and clear during much of the day Thursday, forecasters said.
