Dubai: It wasn't all flight delays, road snarl-ups and minor road accidents in Thursday morning's thick fog across the UAE - keen amateur photographers snapped some terrific shots of the mist and took to Twitter to display their work.

Here are some of the best shots that were tweeted to us @gulf_news.

Rob Cave ‏@notbbcnews24 took this shot on Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. Rob tweeted 'I feel like I live in Cloud City' - which Star Wars fans will recognise this reference to the outpost on the gas giant Bespin.

Gohar Hasan ‏@Goharhasan tweeted this amazing shot from above the clouds in Dubai Marina ...

... and Marina neighbour Deema Saidi ‏@saidideema also struggled to see the ground as the haze descended.

Kashif Bee ‏@Kashif_Bhaor shared with us this shot of Dubai blanketed in thick fog.

Srinath @Srinath_KR sent us this picture, tweeting: "This is how the way from Satwa Roundabout to the Trade Centre roundabout looked this morning."

Baiju ‏@Cric_Talks snapped this spooky scene in the Abu Dhabi morning traffic.

Ali Shoaib ‏@alikzir tweeted to us 'this morning’s fog in Ajman'.

And 7amood Saf3ty ‏@hmza_n showed us how frightening it can be to drive in the murky mist.

Tweet your foggy pictures to @gulf_news and we will retweet the best and publish them here.
