Hail storm and heavy rain hit Al Ain

Al Ain: Hail storm and heavy rain hit Al Ain and nearby areas in the UAE on Thursday evening.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) posted pictures and videos of rain and hail storm in different parts of Al Ain on social media.

The weather department’s tweets said it was raining heavily over Khatam Al Shaklah while Mezeyed was lashed with hail stones.

Al Hayer, Al Souq, Um Ghafa, received moderate to heavy rains while light rain was reported in Wadi Al Helo.

Earlier in the day, NCMS had warned against chance of rainy towering cloud formation associated with fresh winds, causing blowing dust at times over eastern and southern areas of Al Ain.
