Dubai: Be careful if you are driving this morning as UAE residents can expect foggy conditions on Thursday. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), fog formation and mist were reported in parts of the UAE such as parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.

Motorists driving on Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain roads should be extra cautious today. The Met Office has warned that dense fog is expected in some areas till 9am. NCM issued red and yellow weather alerts indicating low visibility in these areas.

In a message posted on X, Abu Dhabi Police called on motorists to exercise caution on the roads due to low visibility caused by fog. They urged drivers to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards for their safety.

Today’s weather is generally fair, with some clouds developing, particularly in the eastern regions, which may lead to convective activity by the afternoon. The maximum temperatures in the internal regions of the country are expected to be between 43 and 47°C. Temperatures will reach highs of 37 to 43°C in the coastal areas and islands and 35 to 40°C over the mountains.

It will be humid tonight and into Friday morning, with a possibility of fog or mist forming in some coastal and inland areas.

Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southwesterly to northwesterly direction at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, freshening at times from the west, potentially causing blowing dust and sand.

In the Arabian Gulf, the sea conditions will range from moderate to rough, while the Oman Sea will remain slight.
