Believe it or not, it's raining in the UAE

Dubai: The eastern part of the UAE received some showers on Friday afternoon giving respite to residents in the summer heat.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology reported Masafi and nearby areas received light rain on Friday at around 3pm.

The national weather bureau raised the orange alert for residents to be alert in case of "hazardous weather" from 3.15pm to 7pm as the clouds were associated with fresh winds.

The rest of the country remained sunny with the mercury hovering over the high 40s.
