Abu Dhabi Police put out a call on social media, asking motorists to be cautious while driving this morning as visibility is affected by thick fog. “[Motorists] are urged to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards. Drive Safely,” it said on X.
Meanwhile, the National Center of Meteorology said horizontal visibility may drop further at times over some coastal and internal areas from 5.45am on Sunday until 09.30am.
Some areas enjoyed the morning chill. The lowest temperature recorded this morning was 9.6-degrees Celsius, recorded in Raknah (Al Ain) at 06.30am, said NCM.
Fresh Northwesterly winds will reach up to 40km/h and the seas will be rough at times in the Arabian Gulf with waves reaching six feet until 9am.

Plan travel ahead, as delays may occur

The pattern is expected to continue into Monday and Tuesday, with partly cloudy weather and periodic cloud cover westward accompanied by a chance of light showers.
