Dubai: In a bid to highlight the concept of unification among the people in the UAE, Watani, the National Identity Programme, launched Al Mutahida, a campaign that encapsulates the ambitions and achievements shared by those in the UAE.

"Mutahida," meaning united, also marks the essence of the UAE experience in the past 38 years and the shared destiny of the people in the country realised through the efforts of leaders to achieve the aspirations of the nation.

The campaign features a greeting postcard addressed to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and to Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council, expressing greetings and a commitment made by UAE residents.

Al Mutahida takes this opportunity to recall the immortal achievements and sincere efforts of the UAE leaders.

"We gathered today to appreciate the great efforts by the founder of the UAE, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and value his wise vision of uniting the seven emirates under one main umbrella called federation. Our future lies in the foundations on which the union was established.

"Today we work to uphold the principles and values that led to the greatest achievements of the Emirati people and will pave the way for us to become one of the greatest nations." Ahmad Al Mansouri, Director General of Watani, told a conference.

Renewal of loyalty

Watani will organise visits to the federal and local departments in the country to share the renewal of loyalty to the leadership by giving them symbols of the UAE's constitution, the flag and photos of the national flag first being raised at the Union House.

Two million postcards have been printed and will be available at all Emirates Post centres for free and will also be distributed through various local and federal institutions across the UAE.

All UAE residents are encouraged to mail the postcards to the UAE's leaders in a mark of solidarity.

Ahmad Al Mansouri, Director General of Watani, puts on stamps on an Al Mutahida postcard as an initial gesture of loyalty to the UAE’s leaders.
