Two new social security offices to be opened
Two new social security offices will be opened by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Sala and Dalma, to provide services to UAE nationals there, a senior official said yesterday.
Abdullah Bu Shihab, acting undersecretary of the ministry for social affairs, said the Dalma office would be opened soon, while the Sala office is scheduled to open by the end of this year.
"These offices will provide services to beneficiaries of social security and those with special needs in these two locations. More offices are planned in other remote areas to help UAE nationals save time and effort, in keeping with the directives of Matar Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs," Bu Shihab said.
He added: "The Social Affairs Sector of the ministry has discussed the Cooperative Societies Law and the Public Welfare Societies Law and submitted them to the Fatwa and Legislation Department.
"It also discussed the Juveniles Law and the Cabinet draft decisions affecting private establishments which provide services to people with special needs. It also contributed to preparing a decision on nurseries set up in government organisations, in cooperation with the Family and Children's Department at the ministry."
