Two killed, five injured in Al Manama Supermarket Fire in Sharjah

Sharjah: At least two person were killed and five others injured in a fire broke out in a supermarket in Sharjah on Friday. 

The 16-storey building on Al Arouba Street in Sharjah caught fire at around midnight.  Super market chain Al Manama, operating from gound and first floor of the building, was completely gutted, reports say. 

“Fire broke out in Al Manama Supermarket on Friday at around 11.32pm, said colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqabi, Director General of Sharjah civil defence.

Sharia Civil Defence led the operations to contain the fire and it was brought under control by early morning.  

The police are investigating the case.
