UAE weekend traffic update: Partial road closures and traffic diversions in Abu Dhabi

The Integrated Transport Centre (AD Mobility) has announced multiple partial road closures and traffic diversions across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain starting Saturday, May 10, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure and improve traffic flow.

Abu Dhabi – Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street (E20)

Motorists are advised of a three-phase lane closure on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street:

  • Saturday, May 10: Two lanes will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, May 10 to Sunday, May 11: One lane will be closed from 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

  • Sunday, May 11 to Monday, May 12: Two lanes will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

A detailed map of the affected area has been released by AD Mobility to assist commuters with route planning.

Traffic diversions have also been announced in Al Ain:

  • Hazza Bin Sultan Street and Nahyan The First Street (Zakhir Roundabout) will be partially closed from May 10 to August 10, 2025.

New traffic signal activation

A new traffic signal will be activated in Riyad City, Abu Dhabi, on Saturday, May 10, to further streamline vehicular movement.

AD Mobility urges all motorists to drive cautiously, follow posted traffic signs and regulations, and plan journeys in advance to avoid delays.

The authority reiterated that these measures are part of its ongoing commitment to ensure road safety and reduce congestion across the emirate.
