Six people killed in road accidents over two days

Dubai/Fujairah: At least six people, including three Emiratis, were killed and 11 injured in accidents in Dubai and Fujairah during the last two days.

Three Emiratis were killed on Saturday and a fourth is in serious condition after an accident on the Towayeen-Dibba Road involving three vehicles.

A police official said the driver of a car, an Emirati, S.H.S., was surprised by a truck turning onto the road from a U-turn exit and was unable to avoid colliding with it.

The third car with three passengers was travelling at a high speed behind the second car and also crashed against the first two vehicles, killing two Emiratis, A.A.S. and A.M., while the driver, K.H.K., also an Emirati, was taken to Dibba Hospital in a serious condition.

Trapped in wreckage

Three people were killed and 10 were injured in accidents in Dubai in the last two days.

One person was killed and seven sustained injuries on Friday when a four-wheel vehicle overturned on Lehbab Road.

The vehicle belonged to a tourist company and was carrying eight tourists during the accident.

In another accident on Saturday in Al Qusais, two people were killed and two were injured in a collision between a pick-up van and a truck.

The rescue teams used hydraulic equipment to free a man from the wreckage who was then airlifted to hospital. Police are investigating the reason behind the collision.
