Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police fined 748 pedestrians for crossing the road at undesignated points on Monday.
The jaywalkers, from Arab and Asian nationalities including 15 women, were fined as part of the traffic campaign titled 'The safety of pedestrians is everyone's responsibility'.
Four groups of policemen participated in the campaign, with each group comprising nine patrols, seven supervisors, and 14 personnel from the Traffic Control Department working round the clock to ensure pedestrians remain safe.
