Dubai: Dubai Press Club has finalised preparations for the 11th Arab Media Forum (AMF) being held on May 8 and 9 at Grand Hyatt in Dubai.

Organized under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the event is set to gather opinion leaders, politicians and media personalities from around the world to explore solutions to challenges facing the regional media landscape.

Themed ‘Arab Media: Exposure and Transition', the event will release the fourth edition of the Arab Media Outlook report and conclude with the Arab Journalism Awards, the region's foremost acknowledgement of excellence in media.

Maryam Bin Fahad, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club, said: "The 11th AMF monitors major shifts in the structure and work culture of institutions in the Arab region and the world. Today, the media industry in the region is influenced by all layers of the society. The forum's sessions will summarize and examine the factors driving this shift to offer substantial evidence and help decision-makers and leaders chart future trends for coping with the rapid changes.

"While preparing the agenda for AMF 2012, we have relied upon the outcomes of the fourth Arab Media Outlook report 2011 - 2015, which is also titled ‘Arab Media: Exposure and Transition'. The report monitors developments in the media landscape across the Arab region and forecasts the growth over the next five years in 17 Arab countries."

Dubai Press Club has received confirmation from 350 international participants, including 70 speakers from leading editors, columnists, and reporters from newspapers, television stations, radio stations, as well as academics and researchers from agencies, educational and research institutions. Over 2,500 media persons from 45 countries have registered online.

The presence of high profile international delegates will ensure global visibility for the event. In addition to coverage from major newspapers, magazines and radio stations, the forum will see a spate of special reports from key channels across the Arab region.

Media staff and students can register now to participate in the forum through its website www.arabmediaforum.ae
