Sharjah girl tops Pakistan board exam results in UAE

Asma Chaudhry from Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School, Sharjah, came top in the UAE in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-I exams scoring an impressive 486 out of 550.

Girls once again outshone boys in the HSSC (class XI) exams, whose results were announced by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad, on Thursday.

Although Pakistani students from all over the UAE produced good results, principals of schools complained that the changes in the syllabus for class XI during the last academic year affected the results negatively as students had to work harder to get through the exams.

According to results received by Gulf News from various Pakistani schools across the UAE, Aisha Ejaz with 457 and Romana Irfan with 455, both from the Pakistan Education Academy in Dubai, secured second and third place in the country respectively.

As many as 173 students from Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School, Sharjah, sat for the examination. The school achieved an overall 82.65 per cent pass result.

Asma Chaudhry, who is from the pre-medical group and who came top in the school, was followed by Mobeen Zahid with 454 marks and Fatima Amin with 446.

The Pakistan Education Academy in Dubai recorded 93.43 per cent pass results with a total of 137 students sitting for the exam. Ayisha Ejaz with 457 marks stood first, followed by Romana Irfan with 455 and Usman Ali with 454 marks.

A total of 68 students from Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School in Ajman sat for the exam, of whom 54 passed. In top three positions in the school were Mahvish Iqbal with 438 marks, Nazia Siddique with 432 and Fatima Ghaffar with 413.

The Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Pakistan School in Dubai registered 71 per cent pass results. Sarah Noor Tariq stood first with a score of 389, followed by Nida Mushtaq with 372 and Faiza Zameer with 358.

The Pakistan Higher Secondary School in Ras Al Khaimah recorded 95 per cent results as 41 out of 43 students who sat for the exams passed. Mahvish Karim with 430 marks secured top position in the school, while Azra Rafiq with 425 marks and Mudassra Iqbal with 419 came second and third respectively.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Arab Pakistan School in Abu Dhabi improved its results this year as it recorded 74.83 per cent pass results as compared with just 46.51 per cent last year. A total of 147 students appeared for the examination.

Amina Nadir, who obtained 439 marks, stood first in the school, followed by Mohammed Arshad with 430 and Ahsan Shahid with 424 marks.

Students of Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School in Al Ain posted 72 per cent pass results. A total of 70 students sat for the examination.

Mohammed Aslam stood first in the school (449) followed by Aisha Imtiaz (446) and Huda Arif (444 marks).
