Ras Al Khaimah Police Air Wing rescues injured Omani national
Ras Al Khaimah: The Ras Al Khaimah Police Air Wing on Wednesday rescued an injured Omani national, who was on a honey collection mission on the border between Ras Al Khaimah and Khassab of Oman.
The Omani national, who went on top of the mountain searching for honey, slipped and fell and suffered serious injuries. The man spent almost 28 hours alone on top of the mountain.
A senior police officer here said the man did not have any means of communication and that the injuries he suffered made him motionless.
The family of the Omani national reported about the man's absence to Omani authorities. A joint search operation was launched.
Ras Al Khaimah Police Air Wing scanned the border area and spotted the motionless man.
Rescue units used ropes and a chair to save the Omani national, who was flown to Khassab Hospital where he was provided with first-aid and later moved to Ras Al Khaimah and admitted to Saqr Hospital.
A senior official at the hospital said the long hours the Omani national spent on the mountainous area with no medical care made his condition worse.
