No casualties reported in car fire

Ras Al Khaimah: A blaze gutted a car belonging to a security company on the RAK Old Corniche yesterday, but no casualties were reported.

A senior officer at the Civil Defence Department said that it was a mysterious blaze and the authorities have not been able so far to determine the reasons for the fire which destroyed the car.

The officer added that the fire was reported early in the morning and several civil defence vehicles rushec to the scene.

Cost of damage

He said that upon the arrival of the firefighters the blaze had already destroyed the car.

However, the financial loss to the company in the incident has not yet been estimated.

The firefighters brought the fire under control and the Civil Defence Department delivered its report to the Police who launched an investigation into the blaze to determine the reasons and circumstances.
