Man dies after crashing vehicle into lamp post

Umm Al Quwain: A 38-year-old man died on Sunday when he crashed his pickup truck into a lamp post on Umm Al Quwain Corniche road heading towards the port.

A civil defence and police team were immediately dispatched to the location when they received the call at 2.10pm.

The Asian motorist, E.A.A was killed on impact. Emergency services personnel removed his body from the scene.

Police sources said that the accident was a result of the driver's inattentiveness.

They said speed was also a factor causing him to lose control of the vehicle which ended up crashing into the lamp post on the road barrier.
