Major success with rescue missions

Dubai: A total of 8,205 people were rescued by the Dubai Police Land Rescue Section in the first half of this year.

The rescue operations carried out included transporting 1,121 cars out of the street boundaries, 189 missions to open locked cars and 10 operations to rescue cars bogged in the sand.

The section also said it carried out 12 missions in the Northern Emirates, and one mission abroad. It dealt with 53 traffic accidents in Bur Dubai, 37 in Jebel Ali, 35 in Rashidiya, 28 in Al Ghusais and 15 in Muraqqabat.

Captain Abdullah Bishua, Head of the Land Rescue Section, said that saving lives, rescuing people stuck in vehicles or other locations after accidents are top priority for the section.
