Three FM stations to be off air from September 13 to 15
Dubai: Gulf News Broadcasting (GNB) has announced that it will upgrade the antennas of Hum FM, Hayat FM and Josh FM next week to increase its listeners’ enjoyment and improve the quality of transmission. The three FM stations will be off the air for a short while but they will continue to stream programmes on the internet.
The antennas of the three FM stations located in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain will be upgraded from September 13 to 15 in a move to expand coverage of the radio stations and increase the reception clarity.
“We are very excited about this upgrade and know the quality of our FM transmission will be improved dramatically,” Digby Taylor, Project Manager, said.
But listeners need not fret during the three-day upgrade as Taylor said there are other ways to tune in to their station.
“You don’t have to miss a minute of your favourite station though, as now is a great time to download our GNB app and listen on your smart phone! You will find apps for Blackberry, Android and iPhone,” Taylor said.
Normal FM broadcasting will resume on the evening of September 15. The stations’ full programmes will hit the airwaves early morning of September 16. Jumpstart your mornings with Anjan & Meghana at 6AM onwards on Josh 97.8 FM, enjoy the crazy antics of Eyhab and Lara from 6am on Hayat 95.6 FM and wake up to the Rainbow Morning Show with Aroma on HUM 106.2 FM.
GNB, the UAE’s premiere radio network, operates Radio 1 104.1FM/100.5FM & Radio 2 99.3FM, HUM 106.2FM, Josh 97.8FM and Hayat 95.6FM. The network has over two million listeners every day across the UAE.
