UAE closely watching Arab events

Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Wednesday received Nabeel Al Arabi, Secretary-General of the Arab League, who is currently on a visit to the UAE, at Al Marmoum Area.

Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, were also present at the meeting.

Shaikh Mohammad and Al Arabi discussed current issues related to the Arab world and changes witnessed in the political field in some Arab countries in light of the movements in the countries and demand for change.

They discussed Arab and international efforts in finding urgent and suitable solutions to the situation in Syria.

Shaikh Mohammad emphasised the UAE leadership's interest in regards to events in the Arab world, and stressed that they are closely monitoring developments, and will assist in consolidating all forms of stability, development and social justice to achieve the aspirations of the Arab people.

Also present at the meeting were Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and the delegation accompanying Al Arabi.
