UAE and UK allow families of diplomats to work

Countries sign deal to allow families to take jobs as per strict regulations of agreement

Abu Dhabi: The governments of the UAE and UK have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to allow families of diplomatic and consular missions in both countries to work.

Signed by Dr. Abdul Rahim Al Awadi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Legal Affairs, and  Philip Parham, British Ambassador to the UAE, it will allow members of families of diplomatic and consular missions accredited in both countries to work in the other country as per terms and measures stipulated by the MoU.

The MoU will regulate the work, particularly where they enjoy diplomatic immunity.
